Gatherings & Women’s Circles
Women’s Circles & Gatherings
Humans have always gathered. Around fire, around the turning of the year, around the mysteries of the body and the earth.
I am dreaming up spaces where that remembering can happen together.
Teachings from the old traditions. Sharing stories. Hands in clay.
The gatherings I’m imagining range from women’s circles woven around the seasons, embodiment, creativity, and story sharing.
I’m deeply drawn to the art, traditions and symbols that are rooted in Old Europe and other matriarchal traditions. This has been a part of my journey of reconnecting with my ancestral roots.
I’d love to share practices with others who are also called to being in circle and making with their hands.
Creating Deep Connection
I collaborate with wise folks, doulas, midwives, therapists, yoga teachers to host gatherings in and around Brisbane where women can feel honored and supported.
We dream of creating spaces where lifelong friendships are formed, in depth and authenticity. Where we can be our weirdest selves. People “who can wash our bodies when we die” as my dear friend and collaborater Jillian Chambers calls it.
Our goal is to build a community of deep connections, breaking the isolation and loneliness that many experience in the absence of supportive villages.
Calling Ourselves Home
The groups and gatherings I’m drawn to creating move across the whole arc of women’s lives and the turning of the year and might explore:
- Wheel of the year circles — gathering seasonally, weaving ritual, craft, and community
- Art-based and expressive gatherings — making as a path to meaning
- Vulva art and body mapping — exploring intimate self-knowledge through mark-making, reclaiming our bodies from shame, and coming home to ourselves
- Making goddess effigies — hands in clay, calling the old ones back
- Exploring the symbols and stories of Old European matriarchal traditions
- Birth story and postpartum circles — space to reflect, process, and be truly heard
- Mother and daughter rites of passage — honouring the threshold of menarche together
- Menopause and midlife — reclaiming this transition as initiation, not loss
- Embodiment and somatic practices — returning to the wisdom of the body
Some of these will be intimate and local. Some may grow into full-day immersions or collaborations.
